Comments from Ronnie Chandler's Family

Today, President Clinton released the list of pardon's and commutations, and we are thrilled to tell you that he commuted Ronnie's death sentence!!!

We are not sure all that entails, but will update you when we have the official word.

On behalf of Ronnie's parents, sister and brothers, and their families, thank you is so inadequate to express our gratitude and appreciation for everything that you, our friends, did to make this possible. To all of you who sent letters, faxes, e-mails, made phone calls, signed petitions and prayed, your compassion and willingness to "step out there with us" will forever fill our hearts.

Above all, we thank God for His grace and mercy on Ronnie's life.

To David and Maddi at Riptide Communications, our awesome "messengers," thank you for believing in Ronnie's innocence, for your persistence, encouragement and patience; we would not have come this far -- this fast without you!

To Robert Jones and Sister Helen with Moratorium2000, and Ajamu Baraka of AmnestyUSA, you have become our lifeline, and angels in the midst of this storm. Mere words cannot express our gratitude.

And last but not least, to Jack Martin, your willingness to push forward in unchartered waters, write an incredible Petition, and walk with us to this awesome victory, we say, from the bottom of our hearts -- THANK YOU!!!!! And to Chad, your patience and positive outlook are unending!!!
